Nintendo Direct Wii U Preview Live Stream

For those interested, so far the news is that its released on November 18th in North America and November 30th in Europe.

Basic version for $299,99 which includes a white, 8GB Wii U console, a gamepad, AC adapters, a sensor bar, and an HDMI Cable.

Deluxe edition for $349.99 that includes all of that in a black, 32GB console, with charging cradles and a free copy of Nintendoland. The Deluxe Edition also includes access to the Nintendo rewards program Deluxe Digital Promotion, which earns online shoppers rebates for downloadable Wii U titles.

Thoughts? Getting it? I didn’t get the Wii which was the first ever Nintendo console I skipped and at this point its looking like I’m keeping that tradition. The Wii U is just not for me and I’m not sure it will hit the same numbers that the original Wii did.

I don’t see myself getting one of these, even though we do have a Wii. The Wii got quite a bit of play by my now 8 year old when we first got it, but he only uses it to play Skylanders every once in a while now.

I’ve got a 5 year old too, and he is not much into gaming – but will play some on the iPad on road trips. The 8 year old would rather be gaming on iPod/iPad than a console.

  2. I’m not interested in this either. I was burned by the Wii, and am not feeling the need for a new console right now. In my mind, games I’m interested in which release on the Wii U will be just fine on the PS3 or 360.

This may change in the long term, if there is innovation and advantages of the Wii U over other systems. The Wii died off pretty quickly.

  3. OVERCOME

I still can’t get over the way that the 3DS launched with Nintendo along w/ the $70 price drop 2-3 months later, so I am going to probably wait 6 months to a year before I consider a serious purchase of the Wii U. Plus I want to see more core games that really innovate with the gamepad. The party games don’t do much for me.

Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo/Apple/PC, it doesn’t matter what the name is, make killer games and I’ll buy into the platform.

So far, haven’t seen the killer Nintendo titles yet. But if there 3 or 4 ‘must haves’ i’ll buy it.

  5. I am glad it is HD finally. I think some of the games look good. I myself barely have enough time for my Xbox360! Honestly I think that it will sell but they really have their work cut out for them.

  6. AS much as I love Nintendo, I just never was won over by the Wii, and the Wii U holds no sway over me. I still have my Wii, but it is now used to stream Netflix to my bedroom. My 360 has taken the throne under the living room tv.
