Fires Of Colorado
« on: June 27, 2012, 10:55:45 AM »
As some of you may or may not know, I currently reside in Colorado.  There are many fires burning in Colorado.  The one that has affected me the most is the Waldo Canyon Fire, near Colorado Springs.  I have helped my family evacuate their house several days ago.  They are currently fine at the moment.

This has been high stress on myself and my family, the feeling is almost similar as I had back in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina made landfall into the Gulf Coast and we had to ride it out.  However, at the same time, it is much different feeling then Katrina...

Anyways, your support through these next few days, weeks, maybe even months is much appreciated!

My mom lives in Fort Collins.  She was visiting us when the fires started and had to cut her visit short because the fires were 10 miles from her house.  Her home is not in danger and they didn't have to evacuate but the smoke coming down the ridge is forcing them to stay indoors and wear dust masks.  Without central air to filter the air in the house and 108 degree temperatures outside she is miserable.  Her poor livestock are suffering too.  She said it may be Fall before the fires are out.
